Hello Sweet People!

My name is Cheri Downey, and I am the proud owner of Cher Ceramics. Since 2014, I have been practicing the art of ceramics. I was born and raised in Northern California and I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Art (with a focus on ceramics) while attending college in Illinois. Although I initially aimed to become an Art Therapist, I transitioned to ceramics as a full-time job in 2022 when I opened a commercial studio called "Ceramic Therapy Studio" in Tennessee. After selling the studio in 2024, we decided to relocate to Huntsville, Alabama, where I now have a home studio. This setup allows me to concentrate on online sales and occasionally participate in local markets.

In my work, I enjoy both hand-building and wheel-throwing functional dinnerware and drinkware. I often incorporate fun patterns, glazes, and elements from my favorite shows or interests. I take pride in my attention to detail and my soft color palette. Each piece I create is thoughtfully designed and crafted with high-quality materials so that you know it will last!
